Trip Update

Well we made it to Mass the night before last and we've been having a blast ever since. The 17 hour drive took its toll on us so the last 2 days have been pretty chill. We went to the Prison Trails yesterday and had a really good time. Thanks to Mike for letting us ride the jumps.

We've been staying with some buddies in Lowell, Mass for the last few days. Big thanks to Randy, Tim and Brent for letting us take over the living room. They've also been showing us around to some riding spots over the last few days. Big time fun.

Yesterday we met up with Justin Brace. I haven't seen Brace for a while so it was good to hang out and catch up. He's an incredible dude and his strength amazes me. He's got quite a sense of humor too.

Today we met up with the one and only Snotty at the Nashua skatepark in New Hampshire. The session was really good despite the heat. I think we brought the super high temperatures with us from the South. Oh well, it could be worse- we could be in the rainy humidity of Baton Rouge and Jackson.

Snotty hitting the hip in Nashua.

I'll try to post a pic of me doing a turndown at least once a day.

We are about to head to another set of trails that are nearby. Should be a good time. And for those of you around this area there will be a trail jam at the Prison Trails this Saturday. Should be a blast.

Day 2 Update

The trip has been pretty awesome so far. Got lots of riding done today all around Asheville, NC and East Tennessee. Some of the highlights:

Waking up to biscuits from Bojangle's courtesy of Chris Hunter.

Going to the Food Lion Skatepark pretty early on not riding worth a damn.

Finding a cool little wallride around the corner from the Food Lion Park. I think we rode that longer than the skatepark.
Micky killed that thing. Surprise.

Took a little pit stop at Mellow Mushroom to refuel. The pizza was swweeeeettttt and the bartender was enthusiastic to say the least.

After lunch we made our way to Johnson City, Tennessee to session a bank to wall under the interstate. Probably the best wallride I've ever ridden in my life. Nahh, defintely the best. It had a starting hill.

Chris Hunter has some killer spots staked out.

We rode non-stop at the bank to wall and then got on the road and hit up the concrete park in Kingsport. There was some funny stuff there (one bowl was pretty much over-vert the whole way around) and some really good stuff. The session on the hip was a blast.

Long drive tomorrow.

Day 1 Trip Update

Well we made it up to Asheville, NC to Chris Hunter's house. The drive was a bit of a hike with some winding roads that made it a little interesting. 50 MPH on the interstate isn't really normal.

Lou and Micky riding shotgun

Chris Hunter has been nice enough to let us stay at his place. He even had some burgers ready for us when we arrived. Too rad.

I was digging through some of the pictures on Lou's new digital camera and I found these beauties:

I wasn't sure what to write about this one. I'll just call it legendary.

Sprint is going to sue our ass.

That's about it. Not much sleep the last two days is starting to catch up to me. Check back soon for more updates.

Happy Birthday Geoff

Just a little shout-out to Geoff Simmons who turns the big 2-1 today. I met Geoff when he was just a little 15 year-old ripper, and now he can buy his own beer. My how the time flies.

This pic was taken at the louisianabmx.com video premier for "Chronicles" about 3 years ago.

On another note, Lou, Micky and I will be heading to PA for a 2 week trip for some trail riding, camping and storytelling. Check out the site for updates on the trip. I am sure there will be some pretty interesting stuff fore everyone to read.

LYMBYC SYSTYM

I know this is late but if you see this before 10 PM tonight and you are in Baton Rouge you need to go see LYMBYC SYSTM at the Spanish Moon. Totally rad music for you to relax to, and seeing them live is pretty impressive.

Rainy Day

So the tropical storm (or what's left of it) decided to come through today and pour some rain on BR for the entire day. That left me with a lot of time on my hands so I put THIS little guy together.

Party Time!!!

Jon Rogers has got a new site up for TBC. You can check it out HERE. It should be updated regularly, it has plenty of info on some BR locals on the TEAM page, product reviews, and I am sure there will be plenty of sweet pics from various social gatherings in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.

Also, you can order products directly from TBC so head that way and spend your allowance.

Lil Pat Webvid

Yesterday Lil Pat and I went to downtown Baton Rouge and filmed some stuff. I had enough to make an edit so here it is. You can check it out SMALL or LARGE. (The larger version may take a second to load).

The music in the edit is "Bounce Baby" by Galactic, from the album "From The Corner To The Block". You can pick it up on iTunes for $10 and believe me, it's worth it. Good stuff for a party- and I know you like to party.

Micky's new parts

Last night Micky got some new hardware installed on his bike in order to get ready for the upcoming trip to the Northeast.

He'll be trying to ride brakes for the first time and I've got to say his bike looks weird with em. Last time he had brakes on it lasted all of 11 hours, and I don't think this time will be much different. In fact, there's no guarantee that they are still on there. If anyone would like to start a pool of when Micky will take the brakes back off send me an email. $5 per guess, closest to the actual time of removal wins it all. I'll probably get busted by some gambling administration for this- I have that kind of luck.

Trail Pics

Brian came through with a ton of pics from this weekend's trail session. Here are some of the better ones:

Geoff Simmons getting the work done so the session can begin.

Micky Marshall with a gallon of water, not Arizona Iced Tea.

The walk up the hill isn't as much fun as going down but its worth it.

Pat Holliday made the trip down from Memphis at 4 AM Saturday. He tricked pretty much everything.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
It's pretty much impossible for Micky to keep his bike straight while he's in the air. BADASS.

Thanks to Brian for not making me look like a douchebag in this picture.

If you watch Geoff Simmons ride his own trails you will probably want to commit suicide.

Geoff Simmons- 360 third set.

Louis ain't no slouch either. Getting high and laying it flat.

One of my 4 tricks.

After he 360-ed this set, Pat Holliday fired out another 3 over the last jump. Retarded.

I'd like to take a second to thank Louis and Geoff for letting us come up to their trails and enjoy all their hard work. Those guys have been busting ass for a year now and their efforts have paid off. Thanks again guys.

Micky likes trails...

Labor Day Fun

I just got back from hanging out in Jackson, MS for the weekend with Lou and Geoff. We had a really good time just riding and hanging out. Micky, Lil Pat and Vega made the trip up I-55 too and raised some hell with the Simmons brothers. Also in attendance was Pat Holliday and Gabe Adams even made an appearance.

In between riding sessions we actually got to go swimming in the Pearl River. Yeah, it isn't Hawaii but it was pretty refreshing.

Lou's back says it all.

Gotta beat the heat somehow.

That thing is bigger than it looks. Pretty fun times.

I'll try to get some riding pics from the weekend posted soon. Unfortunately we won't be seeing any new photos of Geoff Simmons for a while. He took it hard yesterday and busted his shoulder up pretty bad. Get well soon Geoff.
